Values was included because it is an important aspect in the culture of Malaysians and influences career decisions. These four areas were assessed and collated under Holland’s six RIASEC scales. The program was tested and a coding procedure to determine its vocational combinations was established. This program also included a localised Dictionary of RIASEC Occupational Classification for the counsellors to refer and guide their students in deciding their career path. any students in Malaysia are still not able to determine their M career directions after their secondary school education and therefore are indecisive in their choices. The purpose of this study was to assess four areas that are closely related to career choices, namely personality, interest, competency and value, and apply them to help students identify their orientations and decide on their career choices. The students responded to three paper and pencil inventories (personality inventory, interest inventory and competency inventory) and a value game. The scores were collated by trained counsellors with a simple coding system based on the realistic, investigative, artistic, social, enterprising and conventional scale
