Brooke Taylor Mossman, M.S., Ph.D., has been studying the mechanisms of environmental lung disease for approximately 20 yr and has generated over 175 publications. Her interest in the field began with graduate training in the laboratory of Andrew Sivak, Ph.D., at the New York University Institute of Environmental Medicine in Tuxedo, New York, where she worked on the effects of phorbol esters in skin carcinogenesis. She completed her Ph.D. degree in the laboratory of John E. Craighead, M.D., in the Department of Pathology at the University of Vermont; her subject was the mechanisms of tumor promotion in tracheobronchial epithe-lium.
