The purpose of this qualitative study was to identify and describe the communication process between and among sectors, and their corresponding members, in the Texas beef cattle industry. An inductive, qualitative approach was used to develop a platform for the study. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with individuals involved in the production, processing, and/or sale of beef cattle in Texas to investigate means/modes of communication and information sharing between these individuals. A grounded theory and case study approach was used to guide data collection, analysis, and modeling of the results.
