Extensive research has been done on residential and commercial applications of existing technologies for energy conservation. This study specifically examines industrial facilities for energy consumption profiles and common energy conservation opportunities. A statistical breakdown of energy consumption of 10 light manufacturing facilities by process, equipment type, and end use is provided. Common energy optimization procedures are also summarized and ranked in terms of frequency of occurrence, amount of energy conserved, amount of energy cost conserved, time of simple payback, and ease of implementation
