An Energy Analysis and Diagnostic Center was established at Texas A&M University-Kingsville (formerly Texas A&I University) in November 1993 by the U.S. Department of Energy. The Center is managed by the University City Science Center, located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. During the 1993-94 academic year, the Center conducted 15 energy audits of small and medium sized manufacturing plants in South Texas. The SIC code of the plants audited ranged from 20 to 39. The Center's chief purpose is to serve the energy-related needs of small and medium sized manufacturers.
