This paper presents a theoretical discussion of policy making in the energy industry that adopt policy theories to develop strategies for better energy management. The paper aims to present the applicability of existing policies as methods of management and control of energy in its industry, underlying the importance of OPEC’s role with reference to the EU, US and the Far East. Initial findings suggest that further research is needed to help identify the necessary strategies for an international organization. OPEC is proposed as a starting point for these investigations.
