In this work the functionalization reaction of polyethylene-based films with nitroxyl free radicals promoted by peroxide was carried out adopting a photografting procedure. At this scope, a polyethylene-based random copolymer material (ethylene-co-1-octene copolymer, Et-co-Ot) and three derivatives of the 2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidine-1-oxyl (TEMPO) free nitroxyl radical were used.Qualitative and quantitative analyses of functionalized polyolefin films were performed by ATR-IR, fluorescence emission, TGA and XPS measurements
