In order to verifying the structural behaviour of ITER's cryostat under some classes of incidents are conservative, ITER is interested in a set of CFD calculations that consider the following set of events: • The rupture of a cryogenic line inside the cryostat • The ingress of air from outside the cryostat In the first part of this work we introduce the nuclear fusion reactions and the current engineering solutions which allow to control these reactions.
