Object-Based Selection of Spatial Frames of Reference in aṣ-Ṣāniˁ Arabic Introduction Levinson (2003) defines spatial Frames of Reference as semantic and cognitive strategies used to project coordinate systems onto spatial arrays; by such means, we can conceptualize and linguistically describe projective (or angular) spatial arrays (Tables 2.1 and 2.2).
