The principles on which the NDIS is founded remain compelling and inspiring. Doubling the funding for disability support to rectify the chronic under-supply of services, choice and control for people with disability and their families, an insurance approach that focuses on early intervention and building the capacity of individuals and families and increased equity across Australia. The concerns raised in this report are not about the NDIS as a destination or the imperative to improve employment outcomes for people with disability, but about how we get there – and whether the path we are on is the best route to the destination
