The aim was to configure a Linux mail server, which should serve as a complement to web hosting, therefore should be able to serve multiple domains at once. The next task was to test the server base. The theoretical part explained how email works, describes the steps that occur from sending to receiving message. They described the various components of the mail server. Furthermore the most important protocols have been described, what purpose they have, how they work and at which ports they operate. In the practical part was at first selected a suitable solution mail server. Postfix server and additional necessary components were chosen eventually.
