Use of autochthonous species in landscape creation

This thesis has a form of literary research. It is divided into several chapters which are dealing with a landscape and later with the woods, at first in general and then in detail. In the first chapter and its subchapters is described what the landscape is, which scientific disciplines it is a part of, how it can be studied, its mening for humans and how it should be protected. The following chapter focuses on the wood itself. It begins with general characterization, continues with the migration in Europe and in our area which is closely connected to the diversification of species. The subsequent sections aim at the usage of trees from the perspective of different disciplines. One of the subchapters also describes the topic about symbolism of trees from selected families Aceraceae and Tiliaceae. Thesis proceeds to chapters, which are comparing expansive and invasive woods, then further describes usage of woods in the composition. At the end of this broad chapter which is concerned with woods are described scientific disciplines that deal with woods, there are also simply characterized hardwoods as well as the most common habitats where are these woods planted. The third and final chapter contains two selected families, Aceraceae and Tiliaceae that are, at first, generally described and characterized, and subsequently there are chosen individual autochthonous species and to them are given the individual subsections dealing with their appearance, cultivars, their vegetation requirements and utilization
