This thesis is devoted to design and implementation of detector, localizator and extractor of features contained in human iris. In introduction there is a brief explanation of anatomical structure of eye as an optical organ providing a vision and there is also a summary of testing databases with a brief description of their key attributes. Furthermore, the thesis deals with theoretical analysis of the most used algorithms intended for processing images in biometric systems. The description of our own implementation follows as well as a summary of measurement we have gathered for each test database and its comparison with other commercially available variants.
