Contact and Non-contact Method of Surface Roughness Evaluation

This bachelor’s thesis includes an overview of surface roughness profile parameters‘ evaluation methods. Measurement of twelve samples was carried out using a Talysurf CCI Lite non-contact instrument, and a Taylor Hobson Surtronic 25 contact profiler. An analysis of differences in results of evaluation of selected profile parameters was performed based on these measurements. The conclusions of this thesis include practical recommendations for use of contact and non-contact instruments for surface roughness evaluation
