This research examines techniques of persuasion used by SCTV presenters. This research involves advertisements and SCTV presenters. The data is obtained from advertisements presented by SCTV presenters by using English language while most of the consumers use Indonesian language. The data are analyzed descriptively depend on the techniques of persuasion used in advertisements presented by SCTV presenters by exploring Keraf and Renkema theories. The kinds of techniques of persuasion are indicated from the advertisements sentences used by SCTV presenters.
