The connecting system for rod-shaped construction components (1) comprises connecting (3) and coupling devices for the rods and a separate coupling block (4) to which coupling devices (7) are fixed for coupling of connecting devices. The coupling devices are located on two opposite sides of the coupling block. Coupling blocks in the system are joined together in the extension of the sides in which rods are fitted. The coupling blocks have principally a cubic shape and the coupling surfaces are formed by two opposing sides. Between the head side of the rod and the locating surface of the coupling block a head plate is fitted
