Data from 134 patients who were treated with clozapine are analysed in order to determine the influence of age, gender and comedication on the pharmacokinetics of clozapine. Serum concentration was corrected for the daily dose administered. Female patients had a statistically significant higher corrected serum concentration of clozapine than male patients. In female patients, corrected serum concentration tended to increase from <25 years to 45 years, then fall and increase again with increasing age. In young male patients (<25 years) a relatively high corrected serum concentration tended to increase with age.
