We have designed a model that describes the balance of electricity production and consumption in a multi-producer multi-consumer Smart Grid. A perfect balance between production and consumption is taken to be the control goal. One strategy to achieve balance in the network is to match production and consumption only inside each house. However, if neighbors cooperate and share some information with each other, the balancing could be done more efficiently. Due to the many constraints on the µ-CHP, which produce at the same time heat and electricity, we will use Model Predictive Control (MPC) to solve the optimal control problem.
