This volume is one of the annexes to a main report on safety effects of road design standards which was compiled by SWOV in collaboration with other European partners, in 1993-1994. For the covering abstract of the report or the report itself, see C 2838. In this annex, the European organizations are analyzed having regard to the role they play in the field of road design standards and/or road safety. The European Union, the United National Economic Council for Europe, the European Conference of Ministers of Transport and the European Committee for Standardization are paid special attention to.
