This report deals with the relationship between the light reflecting properties and the composition of road surfaces. For this it is essential to be able to characterise, identify and classify surfaces with regard to their reflection properties. Identification is possible by means of two parameters based on three luminance coefficient. One parameter (two luminance coefficients) is sufficient for classification.
