Road unsafety among elderly people is mainly influenced by diminished physical and mental capacity, reduced mobility and increased lethality. Consideration of these related factors offers an approach for improving the safety of elderly road users: retardation of the loss of capacities and traffic experience, stimulation of compensatory behaviour, and the reduction of exposure to some situations or the adaptation of those situations to the users
