A study is made of the possibilities of sealing the sides of lorries to decrease the severity of accidents when cyclists and moped-drivers fall between the front and rear wheels of lorries. The study describes the magnitude of the problem and considers the expected decrease in the number of fatalities and also the costs of such a safety device. In the study only conflicts between lorries and two-wheeled vehicles are mentioned; when this safety device is also required to prevent cars from slipping under the lorry, a different, heavier, construction is necessary
