Multicultural schools highlight a series of issues that have accompanied the democratization process of education since its origins, for instance the access and right to schooling, the selection procedures, the causes of student failure and the factors of their success. More in generale, the discussion is now focused on the issue of equality of the chances for education as related to a diversity that characterizes the school population, which is heterogeneus not only as for expectations and social origin, but also as for the variety of life experiences and cultural orientations.
