Santa Rosa MainStreet: Community Economic Assessment

An analysis of economic conditions in Santa Rosa, New Mexico, commissioned for its MainStreet economic development program. The MainStreet district and regional trade area are described and illustrated. Selected demographic, economic, and housing data for Santa Rosa, Guadalupe County, and the entire Eastern Plains region (Curry, Guadalupe, De Baca, Quay, and Roosevelt counties) are examined. Using location quotients and pull factors, the author assesses the local economy’s strengths and weaknesses. The report concludes with a discussion of opportunities and challenges for the area.
