International audienceWe introduce a class of preconditioners for general sparse matrices based on the Birkhoff-von Neumann decomposition of doubly stochastic matrices. These precondi- tioners are aimed primarily at solving challenging linear systems with highly unstructured and indefinite coefficient matrices.
