Performance Measures at the Accident and Emergency Department in Denmark: The Issue of Unified Targets

The main findings are that having unified performance targets has consequences for the actual flow of various incoming patients, organization structure, and workflow. Moreover, this study suggests that measuring process lead time and length of stay differentiated by sites and various patient flows will provide a clearer overview of the actual operational performance
