In plasma acceleration a key to more control over beam properties and stability is control and exact knowledge of the plasma parameters. Measuring the plasma density, however, can be challenging, especially at low densities. This contribution presents a method for measuring the spatially and temporally resolved electron density profile inside the plasma. It utilises the light emitted by the plasma and will allow to resolve densities down to the 1016cm−3 regime
