This chapter identifies some significant aspects of the process of transition for international students from China when undertaking tertiary study in Australia. A 'small culture' approach unmasked the diversity and complexity of six ICS's responses to this transition. Resources on which students drew included those of their families, schools, workplaces, university peers and friendships in China and in Australia.Adaptive strategies are discussed with consideration of both individual differences and cultural norms
