Peter Brew explored the function of Idea in Architecture. The research identified and considered how ideas effect or cause things. This was prosecuted through the consideration of ‘significant’ material collected or preserved for the purpose of public instruction including; matter in public collections, institutional discourse and works of architecture maintained and preserved by legal statute, furniture, crockery, sculpture, texts, art and architecture. The thought, insight and reflections were then carried forward to consider how ideas had been used by the authors in his architectural practice.
