The aim of this dissertation is to present a particular point of view on the contemporary Chinese photographic production. We will analyze the photographic works that deal directly or indirectly with the representation of concrete spaces. We will give special attention to the representation of public and private spaces and to the problems related to them. We will analyze the period that coincides with the eighties until today, the time of particular development of photographic production in China. The methodology employed will be a multidisciplinary approach that allows to better understand the complexity of determinate phenomenon related to the spaces represented by the selected artists.
