Rationale: Accumulating evidence supports the involvement of the ventral striatum (VS) in spatial information processing. The multiple cortical glutamatergic and mesolimbic dopaminergic (DAergic) afferences on the same neurons in the ventral striatum provide the neuroanatomical substrate for glutamate and dopamine functional interaction.
