A study on the effect of a filter aids material known as PrekotAC on particle penetration through a PTFE filter media was carried out in a laboratory-scale filtration test system. PrekotAC is a combination of an activated carbon with a pre-coating material, PreKot™ which was formulated into four different weight ratios and tested under three different air flow rates of 4, 5, and 6 L/min and a constant material loading of 0.2 mg/mm². The results showed that the penetration of particle was reduced significantly with the use of PrekotAC compared to activated carbon alone.
