Cybercrime over internet love scams in Malaysia: a discussion on the theoretical perspectives, connecting factors and keys to the problem

Increasing cybercrime cases related to the Internet has alert t he authority bodies of the country to investigate the causes and actions that need to be t aken. Malaysia as a developing country that looking towards advancement of ICT usage in variou s sectors need to take firm and strategic actions to overcom e cybercrime particularly love scams that affect the development of wise generation and degradation of economic grow th. There is also a need to take further look into this matter from the ethical point of vi ews. Perhaps, holistic views of the problem causes and solution can be highlighted. Thus this p aper will discuss on the theoretical perspectives based on Kantianism, Social Contract T heory, Rule and Act Utilitarianism. Some possible causes to the problem were also i dentified including from the weaknesses of the victims or advancement of ICT usage itself. I n the end, proactive solutions are proposed to deal with the is sue involving cooperation from the individual internet users also the authority departmen ts in the countries involved
