As a part of many attempts to isolate novel microbial species that degrade chlorinated aliphatic halocarbon (CAHC) compounds, however, in this study we focused on the isolation of (TCAA-2) bacterium from Danga Bay coast The amplification of 16S rRNA revealed that the isolated strain is close to Ralstonia sp PH-S1 (Accession number JN543508). The bacteria utilize 5mM Trichloroacetic acid (TCAA) as sole source of carbon and energy. The bacteria grew in liquid minimal medium pH6.5 at 30 C° in shaker incubator 160 rpm.
