Asphalt owned by Buton Island is quite much but not fully utilized. The structure of asphalt that contains a lot of aromatic compounds required hydrocracking in order to be smaller hydrocarbon fractions that can become an alternative fuel source. This research conducted in 2 stages: preparation of the catalyst Ni(3)-Pd(1)/Zeolite-Y 1%, followed hydrocracking Buton asphalt. Hydrocracking done by entering the catalyst in reactor and asphalt extracts at autoclave. Asphalt steam flowed into the reactor which was filled with catalyst, H2 gas flowed into the reactor until the desired pressure and until the situation is considered steady state.
