The Communify Knitting Group at the Exchange in Kelvin Grove brings together people from all walks of life and multicultural backgrounds to practice English and make woolen blankets and toys for refugee families around the world. A documentary film directed, shot and edited by Chengsuo Liu and produced by Dr Phoebe Hart was created in order to honour the efforts of the women from the knitting group. "The Blanket Makers of Kelvin Grove" was launched at CreateX - a festival of creativity and technology in Brisbane, Australia, and uses visual storytelling, music, animation and playfulness in order to transcend cultural and linguistic boundaries
