Transference of meaning deals with understanding a thing in terms of another. The objectives of the study are to describe the types of transference of meaning employed in the album Self-Title by Rage Against The Machine, the functions of transference of meaning and the themes reflected through the use of transference of meaning in the album. To achieve the three objectives, this research employed qualitative research.
