Rabbi Abraham Haselkorn (1905-1982) was a Jewish military chaplain in World War II. A Reform rabbi, he graduated from the Jewish Institute of Religion in New York City. He served as rabbi of Temple Beth-El in Poughkeepsie, NY before enlisting in the army in 1942. He was stationed in France in 1944 and Germany in 1945. He worked with Jewish displaced persons, many of them survivors of concentration camps. This collection documents the time Rabbi Abraham Haselkorn spent stationed overseas during World War II. Photographs include those of comrades and soldiers, as well as refugees.
