Selig Nissen Collection circa 2011

The collection contains photocopies of a photograph of Selig Nissen; voter registration card for Nissen; census identity cards for Nissen and his wife Rachel; and titles pages and inside covers of two volumes of the Chumash with Nissen's inscription, including dates and his address in Czernowitz.Selig Nissen was born in 1874 in Sadagura, Bukovina, at that time part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. His wife Rachel was born ca. 1883. They had four children: Moritz, Jacob, Samuel, and Bernard. Selig worked as an embroidery merchant in Czernowitz and died in 1942.Processed for digitizatio
