DESAIN DAN IMPLEMENTASI ELEKTRODA SELEKTIF ION (ESI) UNTUK ANALISIS ION KLORIDA DI PERAIRAN PANTAI LOSARI

Losari bay is a marine, culinary, and hospitality tourism area which is very popular in Makassar city. The control for the seawater quality standard in the area is an important thing to do. This can be done by measuring chloride ion which is one of the most dominant anion in seawater determine the salinity in that bay. For that, in this study, an Coated-Wire Ion Selective Electrode (CWISE) was designed and to analyze the chloride ion in that bay. ISE has several advantages in using, such as quick and accurate analysis, high selectivity, wide measurement range, and low-cost in constructing. The chloride-ISE was constructed using carbon paste membrane consists of paraffin, carbon, and AgCl, vary in composition ratio as follows (a) 5:3:2; (b) 4:3:3; (c) 3:3:4; dan (d) 2:3:5 (% b/b). The result shows that the Nernst Equilibrium Potential is 49,27 mV/decade with membrane composition (c) 3:3:4; measurement track 1x10-5 ??? 1x10-2 M; average response time 147 seconds; detection limit 1,58x10-4; pH 7, and the selectivity of Chloride-ISE performance on interfering ion is relatively not interfered. The concentration of chloride ion in seawater of Losari Bay at station 1,2,3, and 4 respectively are 47,641; 65,710; 54,137; dan 83,815 (mg/L)
