penilitian ini dlakukan d krcamatan manggala kota makassar untuk mrngetahui jenis-jenis logam berat pada sumber air PDAM kota makassarA research on raw water for drinking water at district of Manggala - Makassar has been done. The aim of this research was to detect the probability of the existence of heavy metals in the water. Samples (water and soils) were analyzed using XRF spectroscopy. Results showed that raw water contained several heavy metals such as iron (Fe), Manganese (Mn), Copper (Cu), Barium (Ba), and Zinc (Zn). Their concentration were high and exceeded standard values. Although the concentration of heavy metals in raw water were high, but on the contrary the concentration of heavy metals in soils were in acceptable values. So, it was considered that the heavy metals in raw water probably came from injection of urban and small industry wastewater located along the canal.\ud Keywords : raw water, drinking water, heavy metal
