BIODIVERSITAS GASTROPODA DI PADANG LAMUN PERAIRAN MARA???BOMBANG KABUPATEN PINRANG SULAWESI SELATAN

The research about gastropods diversity in Mara???bombang seagrass meadow, village of Watang Suppa, district of Suppa, regency of Pinrang, South Sulawesi. has been conducted in November-December 2012. The aim of this research was to know the diversity of gastropods species. Samplings of gastropods were taken from three different stations. Each station was divided into three substations. The substation consists of transect which is 50 m in length. Retrieval data of gastropods used quadrat measuring 50 x 50 cm. Sampling point took place every 10 m in transect. Data of gastropod was taken two times (systematic randomly), side by side sampling point. Ecological indices including: diversity, evenest, dominance and distribution pattern, calculated respectively. The result shows that 34 species of gastropods found in Mara???bombang seagrass meadow. Cerithidea cingulata is the most dominant species that has mean density of 13,87 ind/m2. The result also indicates that diversity index in every station, is low, ranging from 0,49 to 1,32. Ecological indices value indicates community stabilities was low, hence water condition in Mara???bombang coastal has been polluted.\ud Keywords: Biodiversity Gastropods, Seagrass Meadow, Mara???bombang Coastal, Community Structure
