Motor vehicles are the largest contributor to air pollution in Indonesia. Exhaust gas issued motor vehicle is very dangerous to health, especially carbon monoxide (CO). The more use of the motor vehicle, the more CO gas are released. The use of waste leather durian (Durio zibethinus) as raw material for the manufacture of activated carbon can reduce the concentration of CO gas from motor vehicles.
