Induced modulation instability in a lossless optical fiber is studied by means of numerical simulation. Compression ratios and optimum fiber lengths required to achieve a train of short pulses at the output of the fiber are presented in normalized form. © 1988, Optical Society of America.SCOPUS: ar.jinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishe
