This study concerns a little-known mechanism producing the rotary motion in an internal combustion engine. First, the balance conditions of a one-cylinder engine are computed with the aid of a rigorous analysis of the motion, and then the vibration of a multicylinder in-line engine is studied in detail. A dynamic analysis is made and the forces in the linkages are computed considering an ideal thermodynamic cycle.SCOPUS: ar.jinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishe
