LA TOMOGRAPHIE AXIALE COMPUTERISEE DANS LES AFFECTIONS URINAIRES

Computerized tomography was used for diagnosis in a great variety of lesions in the upper and lower urinary tract. It was particularly useful to determine the nature and extension of certain lesions. At the level of the kidney computerized tomography establishes the differential diagnosis between cysts and tumours; it gives a clear definition of the topography and extension of the tumour; it is also very useful in the diagnosis of xanthogranulomatous pyelonephritis, in renal abscesses or pynephrotic destructions, in the diagnosis of renal infarct and even more in retroperitoneal tumours, retroperitoneal sclerosis, neoplastic cellulitis or lymph node invasion. At the level of the pelvis, computerized tomography presents considerable interest in defining the extension and the degree of infiltration of vesical or prostatic tumours.SCOPUS: NotDefined.j
