The antimicrobial activity of SCH 34.343 and piperacillin on a culture of Escherichia coli was measured by kinetic turbidometry and killing curves. The bactericidal activity depended on the SCH 34.343 concentration (1 to 256 μg/ml), but not on piperacillin concentration. The measurement of the early increase in optical density was predictive of bactericidal activity.SCOPUS: NotDefined.jinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishe
