In Western societies, psychopathological suffering of adopted teenagers is traditionally assumed to be related (only) to the initial abandonment and its consequences. As a consequence, teenager sufferings are likely to be reduced to adoption. As for any suffering patient, psychopathological disorder of adopted children should be actually understood from their entire personal life history - including of course the traumatic adoption event - but also from the filiation and environmental context/history.
