The electron-capture cross-sections for O8+ and Ar8+ collisions in the energy range from 1 eV/amu to 2keV/amu was calculated using the hyperspherical close-coupling method (HSCC). The semiclassical atomic orbital close coupling calculations with straight-line trajectories were also analyzed. Using the diabatic molecular basis functions, the converged results were obtained with small numbers of channels. Calculations for Ar8+ collisions in the same energy range was also carried out to analyze the effect of ionic core on the subshell cross-sections.SCOPUS: ar.jinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishe
