C-extended oscillator algebras are realized as generalized deformed oscillator algebras. For λ = 3, the spectrum of the corresponding bosonic oscillator Hamiltonian is shown to strongly depend on the algebra parameters. A connection with cyclic shape invariant potentials is noted.
